ANSWERS:  1. Gal. 2:1;  2. Gal. 2:1;  3. God revealed to him that he should go;  4. (1) If the admission of Gentiles was settled in the benevolent visit (Acts 11), it would seem strange that another meeting was necessary in Acts 15; (2) It would have been very inappropriate for the apostles to insist that Paul remember the poor (Gal. 2:10), for that was the very reason that he came to Jerusalem in Acts 11; (3) The chronology in Acts 11 would have been impossible, putting Paul’s conversion back during Christ’s ministry, but Acts 15 would seem to be about right (we determine the chronology by Herod’s death in Acts 12, which is after the Acts 11 happening, that is said to have taken place in A.D. 44); 5. There was a private meeting as well as a public meeting, Gal. 2:2; 6. Gal. 2:3;  7. Paul’s calling was to preach the gospel primarily to the Gentiles, while Peter’s was to the Jews; 8. Gal. 2:9;  9. One sin is so awful that it condemns us. The only way that we could be justified by the law would be by perfect obedience. But all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We stand condemned and need a Savior;  15. By putting himself back under the law, the law would condemn him because none are perfect. He would be classified as a transgressor;  16. Romans 7:1-4;  17. Gal. 2:20;  18. (1) By thinking that we can be saved by being good; (2) By thinking that we can be saved without being good.
