Answers to the Above Questions:
1. Around 101 years: --It
is said that Shem’s descendant Eber begat Peleg (Genesis 11:10,16), and
that he was named Peleg (meaning division) because at that time the earth
was divided (Genesis 10:25). This division took place at the tower of Babel
(Genesis 10:5,25, 31,32; 11:7-9). --If
we can determine the number of years after the Flood it was when Peleg
was born, we will have the time that the scattering (division) took place
(since he was named for the event). --We
can establish the years by starting with the birth of Arphaxad (born to
Shem, Noah’s son). Arphaxad’s birth took place two years after the Flood
(Genesis 11:10). Arphaxad when he was 35 years old begat Salah (Genesis
11:12). When Salah was 30 years old, he begat Eber (Genesis 11:14). Then
when Eber was 34 years of age, he begat Peleg (Genesis 11:16), and the
scattering took place at this time. --Starting
with Shem, add 2 years plus Arphaxad’s 35 years plus Salah’s 30 years plus
Eber’s 34 years and the total comes to 101 years, putting Peleg’s birth
something like 101 years after the Flood; thus, it was around 101 years
after the Flood when the scattering at the tower of Babel took place. 2.
